To me, restoration is about returning to the place I need to be—finding peace within myself again. People often talk about self-love, but it's more than just getting your nails done or having a spa day. Sometimes, self-love is about spending quality time with the people you love, relaxing on a Saturday afternoon instead of working, or looking in the mirror without being harsh and constantly pointing out your imperfections.
We all have a story. Mine has its ups and downs, but it made me who I am today. Some things happened to me through no fault of my own, while other lessons were learned from the decisions I made along the way. I am now at a place in my life where I am comfortable saying "No" without an explanation, where I can look in the mirror and know that I am perfectly imperfect, understanding that it is okay to not always be okay. It is also okay to take breaks. Do not feel pressured to be on the scene all the time. I enjoy being in the background. Sometimes I prefer not to be seen.
